Hey Jupiter was by designed by Paul Reilly on a Power Macintosh 6320.

Adobe Photoshop 4.0 was used to edit/produce the tori images for each page and the excellent Graphic Converter program was used for reducing the jpg's down to a nice small size for the web! The font used in headings is Nadianne 60pt and the font used for text is Arial.

The cover page is generated by some Javascript code which chooses randomly between one of seven (or so...) images to display. These are then mapped using an imagemap to the URL's for the different sections of Hey Jupiter !

The Tori Webquotes system runs as a clever combination of perl scripts and HTML. It runs as a cgi script when you compose a quote, and stores info about the quote in the dynamically generated HTML file. Then if you choose to edit the card, this information is preserved. When you send the card a random filename is chosen and the recipient emailed to say they have a card. When they come to collect it, they enter their tori ticket number, which references a database for the card and the senders email address. In this way the sender is also informed when the recipient picks up the card!
